Because the problems and concerns that led to your seeking help, didn't happen in one or two hours, once a week. So it shouldn't be too surprising when a resolve can't be achieved in that same timeframe. Sometimes it requires isolation from the very environment that fostered the problems before the air is cleared and a solution presents itself that makes sense to both parties. In that regard, Dr. Trapuzzano, MFT offers three kinds of Retreats, each a minimum of two days, in a beautiful, restful, secluded environment, devoid of the pressures of the outside world.
The Crisis Retreat:
This Retreat is structured especially for couples who are on the brink of separation or divorce and sincerely want a real opportunity at reconciliation. The focus here is to allow each partner a chance to speak his or her mind, openly, honestly and sincerely, without rancor or fear of recrimination.
The key element is communication, with the understanding that words that make it beyond your ears and into your psyche, are spoken... not YELLED! So often, honest communication, in a neutral setting, with a non-judgmental Conciliator present, opens doors thought to be locked forever. For these Crisis Retreats, separate sleeping accommodations can be arranged, if desired.
The Rekindling Retreat:
This Retreat is designed for couples who are not contemplating separation or divorce, but have lost the romance that sparked the relationship when it all began, and sincerely want it back. With guidance from Dr. Trapuzzano, MFT and her Life Coach Assistant, this Retreat will provide the time, space, romantic atmosphere and activities, all geared to allowing the couple to refocus on the feelings and emotions that brought them together in the first place... without any pressure to perform.
The Group Therapy Retreat:
This Retreat brings together at least 3 couples who are in relationship crisis, with the focus being on shared experiences and emotions. Just knowing that your problems are not unique, can be the key to the beginning of a solution. You are not alone!
