I work primarily with individuals, couples, and families to address the issues underlying communication differences. I also assist couples in mastering the art of fighting fair, reclaiming love within their marriage, and working on co-parenting skills when children from a previous marriage/relationship are involved.
I began my practice as a Marriage & Family Therapist twenty years ago. In that time I have dealt with a good many issues in my own life. And I found that no matter the issue, a quiet walk, amidst the serenity and beauty of nature somehow put my own problems into perspective - allowing me the time to take a deep breath to better assess my personal situation.
And that's how I came to create Therapy in the Park.
I also offer my clients traditional office sessions, certainly when weather dictates. However for those who are willing to embrace and trust the concept, I find that sessions under an open sky, with nature's creations surrounding us, result in a more intimate sharing of inner feelings. And thus, you can reach faster and deeper resolutions.
The counseling process calls for safety, trust, and cooperation, requiring one-on-one meetings over the course of time to build a therapeutic relationship. Because my clients are my first and only concern, I don't allow managed care and insurance companies to dictate the frequency or time allowed for treatment. That's something you and I decide on together.
Some problems can be addressed successfully in a relatively short amount of time. Others require more in-depth work. I provide you with a safe, confidential, non-judgmental atmosphere, giving you the time and the tools to meet the challenges in your life - no matter what they are.
For those who might feel better suited to a less formal approach to therapy, I have a Life Coach Associate, who also practices Therapy in the Park. He is a skilled and caring practitioner with expansive life experience. Some clients have found resolution with a combination of both his approach and mine.
If this philosophy of therapy makes sense to you, simply call or email me to discuss your situation in confidence. Because therapy is an important, life-changing experience, it should not be entered into lightly, and so I offer a FREE, 30-minute phone consultation, giving us the opportunity to determine if together, we can change your life for the better.
